Skate UK is NISA's flagship learn-to-skate program for beginners of all ages that teaches fundamental movements and basic skills. The program is set up in ten stages. The Skate UK program emphasizes fun and continuous movement and is taught in a group lesson format; Skate UK is taught by qualified NISA coaches and can be assisted by trained Program Assistants
If you would like to skate more than just on a Saturday morning but are perhaps not sure if you are ready to join the main club then maybe "Stepping Stones" is for you! Stepping Stones is a 2 day membership, open to SkateUK level 5, which runs for 4 months at a cost of £33/month. This covers your ice costs and you can choose to come in on 2 days, from Tuesday, Thursday and Sunday. You can then arrange private lessons on a 1-1 basis with a club coach, join group classes and/or "off-ice" classes (at an extra cost). If you think you might be interested, the treasurer/club secretary can give you advice as to what might be suitable for the stage you are at, with exact costs.
Please note availability of 1-1 coaching sessions is limited!
CDs are played on a rotational basis. A Coach can request a CD to be played only once during a 15 minute lesson. Skaters with more than 1 programme must choose which one to play when it is their turn. Rewinding/repeating/volume of music is at the discretion of the person playing the music. Skaters should monitor their place in the music queue and be on the ice ready for their music to be played to prevent delays/time wasting. The safety bibs provided by the Club must be worn by the skater performing their programme whilst their music is playing, including lesson time. Adults/Coaches only are allowed to use Club music equipment.
